Mot du jour: réfléchir

fléchir /ʀefleʃiʀ/ (verb, conjugations)
To reflect, to think.
Par exemple: La mer réfléchit le ciel bleu. (The sea reflects the blue sky.)

I first encountered this word last Saturday, when we started learning about the imperfect tense. Conjugating this word in the present tense is no sweat, but see how it gets unbelievably long with the imperfect tense formula:

je réfléchissais
tu réfléchissais
il, elle, on réfléchissait
nous réfléchissions
vous réfléchissiez
ils, elles réfléchissaient

See, confusing. But with more practice, let’s hope it gets easier!
